Travel retail and concessions
HMS Host is recognized as a leader in the travel dining and airport concessions industry. They operate in nearly 80 airports across North America as a global restaurant company, specializing in airport restaurant operations, design, and development.
I was assigned to the design team responsible for developing restaurant and retail concepts for HMS Host. In collaboration with the architectural firms hired by the client, we created proposal decks using provided plan sets to allow the client to bid on airport concession contracts. HMS Host often partnered with local, regional, and national brands; often collaborating with award-winning chefs to bring our design concepts to life.
During my time on this account, we designed and produced travel convenience spaces, specialty retail areas, food and beverage locations, and duty-free shops for key transportation hubs across various travel hubs in the United States. This process often involved working closely with account managers, project managers, and, once the concepts were approved, construction managers to move the projects into production.
