Needing to enhance the existing text based logo, a project was funded to redesign the Oregon Zoo identity. The rebranding effort was ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​focused on creating a logo to celebrate "Packy", the world-famous Asian elephant that put Portland on the map in 1962. 
We explored a few different styles before I finally drew the illustration that was added to the existing logo. Featuring this world-renowned Asian elephant put a face on the Oregon Zoo and helped to create a family friendly experience for the 1.6 million visitors each year.​​​​​​​
